The Friends of Thamesmead Parks, supported by Gallions Housing Association will be running a gardening competition to help celebrate the green fingered residents of Thamesmead. Calling all musicians, poets, comedians and inspirational speakers! If you fancy taking part in Thamesmead Youth Voice's Access Group's Open Mic Night, now's your chance! It's here you will be able to showcase your talent, no matter what age or genre. The event will be taking place on Friday 5 July, in what they hope will be the first of monthly Open Mic night events.

Application deadline is Wednesday 5 June with rehearsals starting on 12 June.

Join the Bumblebee Conservation Trust who will be leading this walk and talk across the Crossness Southern Marsh and nature reserve, identifying and recording bee species, 10:00am-3:00pm. Everyone is welcome and you never know, you may see a Shrill Carder bumblebee  - a rare form of bee that was spotted in Thamesmead for the first time in November 2012.

Help the Friends of Crossness Nature Reserve pull-up the plant (Ragwort) and placing it into bags so it can be disposed of before it does anymore damage to the local wildlife. This event is taking place 10:00am-2:00pm. Please take your own sun cream, sun hat, etc.

Thamesmead Surfers over 50s group meet 11:00am-1:00pm on the last Tuesday of each month to watch demonstrations and take part in making cards, bookmarks, flower arranging and more. 50p per week for refreshments and some members stay for a pub lunch afterwards.

Every Tuesday - Crossway Parent & Toddlers Group

There's lots of fun things available at this parent and toddler group, including ball pools, foam pits, soft play, bouncy castle, trampolines and arts and crafts. 11:00am-1:00pm every Tuesday and Thursday during school holidays. 1st Tuesday of the month - Thamesmead Talks on a Tuesday

Greenwich Association of Disabled People (GAD) and Trust Thamesmead are working together to provide monthly drop in sessions for disabled people in Thamesmead. Meeting on the first Tuesday of every month-the first session is taking place on the 3rd May between 1:00-3:00pm.

These sessions will provide a place for disabled people to socialise, share information, resources and create a platform to speak up for disabled people living in Thamesmead about issues which affect them.

Every other Tuesday - Thamesmead Youth Action Link

Thamesmead Youth Action Link (TYAL) is a group of proactive members of the community who want to make a real difference in Thamesmead.

They hold meetings every-other Tuesday at 7:00pm and is open to anyone aged 16+.

TYAL work closely with The Link Thamesmead, the Trust and Thamesmead Youth Voice on a variety of projects and events taking place at The Link and across Thamesmead.

Every Tuesday - Thamesmead Youth Voice Access Group

Trust Thamesmead's youth forum, Thamesmead Youth Voice (TYV) is an exciting and proactive youth group aimed at 11-19 year olds.

TYV is proving so popular, we have split it into two; the first group - this group - meet every-other Tuesday and is for those interested in finding out more about the group and how they can get involved. It is then up to the individual to commit as much time and effort to the group, to join the fully-fledge group who meet every Wednesday.

TYV helped Trust Thamesmead gain a £5m grant to help build The Link Thamesmead and they have their own office based upstairs in arch A, where fortnightly meetings are held to discuss different projects and events and how to take them forward.

The group go on residentials and often volunteer at events held by The Link Thamesmead and Trust Thamesmead.

This group is for those who want to make a real difference in the community. If that's you, then get in touch!

Every Wednesday - Body Conditioning

Active for Health in Greenwich is working in partnership with the Government's Change for Life and offering free Body Conditioning classes, 1:30-2:30pm during term-time.

Every Wednesday - Bookstart Bear's Book Club

Developing and improving children's looking, listening and talking skills through songs, stories and hand-on art, 9:00-10:30am. For parents/carers with children under four years of age. Every Wednesday, 27 April - 22 May 2013.

Keep fit and have fun whilst learning something new with these adult-only dance classes, 11:30am-12:30pm as part of our Fun Wednesdays. Just £2 per session.

Stay-on after the lesson for a spot of lunch in The Link's cafe, which serves hot and cold food and drink, including a fantastic offer of coffee & cake for just £2.50 and if you take part in the afternoon's Arts & Crafts session, 1:30-3:00pm, instead of paying £2 for each session, you can attend both for just £3.

Pop along to our weekly dance/fitness sessions which are held in The Studio at Trust Thamesmead's newest community centre, The Link Thamesmead.

Taking place 11:30am-12:30pm every Wednesday, this class is for adults only.

It's a tasty way to get your five a day! The stall offers great prices, a pre-ordering option and accepts Healthy Start vouchers.
