Trust Thamesmead is holding one of its many annual healthy living initiatives; Good Choices Day, 10:30am-2:30pm on Friday 4 July at Arnott Community Centre off Bentham Road, Thamesmead.

20-July-2008 - Celebrity Charity Football Match

Eltham Royals FC V Arsenal ex professionals and Celebrity XI.

Celebrities and ex-professionals who may play (subject to confirmation) include: Perry Groves, Paul Davis, Steve Williams, Phil Daniels (EastEnders), Ralf Little (Royle Family), Tommy Walsh (Ground Force), Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Patrick Robinson (Casualty), Mark Ramprakash (Strictly Come Dancing), Martin Offiah (ex-England Rugby League) and Terry Marsh (ex-World Champion Boxer).

3:00pm kick-off. There will also be family entertainment, side-shows, a grand prize raffle and refreshments.

In memory of Darrell Bing, founder of Eltham Royals FC, an amateur club reunited especially for this match. All proceeds raised to be donated to Demelza Hospice Care for Children and Arsenal Charitable Trust. £2 for adults and children 10+ (including Match Day programme), children under 10 and the registred disabled can enter for free.

Greenwich Council is running Summer University Courses, including a four days kayaking and canoeing course where you will learn the basics of both these exhilarting water sports. Greenwich Council is running Summer University Courses, including this course which puts into practice thE techniques you need to be a DJ. It is a hands-on course and will help build your confidence using the equipment and creating your own mixes. open to 13-19 year olds. Every Tuesday - Walks

Meeting in the car parking area of the Lakeside Complex at Southmere Lake, 10:30am every Tuesday.

Walk your way to health in a fun atmosphere and take in the sights that Thamesmead has to offer. Led by a qualified volunteer walk leader, there is a set of four, 40-50 minutes walks to choose from (alternating weekly).

All Thamesmead residents are welcome. Refreshments (at a minimal cost) will be held afterwards at the Lakeside Complex.

Trust Thamesmead and Gallions Housing Association are sponsoring a six month Tai Chi class at The Pop in Parlour. The over 50's class takes place 10:30am-12:00pm every Wednesday.

Every Thursday - Tai Chi Classes

Try this ancient Chinese form of co-ordinated body movements focusing on harmonising the mind, body and spirit and promoting both mental and physical well-being through softness and relaxation.

These classes are a joint initiative between Trust Thamesmead, Bexley Adult Education and Friends of the Atrium.

Trust Thamesmead and Greenwich Community Food Coop launched a weekly fresh fruit and veg stall in September 2007.

Available 10:30am-2:30pm every Friday. Benefits include...
