The main focus of this free, six week course is on finding ways of coping and improving your self management. It is also a place to share experiences with others in a similar situation to you. The course will enhance your skills in dealing with sibling issues, the school system, making informed treatment decisions, child behaviour and communication. Areas of self management covered include action planning, problem solving, exercise, relaxation, managing tiredness and difficult feelings.

Waterways Children's Centre are offering a Giggle Club with entertainment by Mrs Back 2 Front, 3:45-4:45pm, courtesy of Sure Start and the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The Friends of Thamesmead Park, supported by Gallions Housing Association, will be running a gardening competition to help celebrate the green fingered folk of Thamesmead. This gives you the chance to nominate a neighbour, friend or family member to win some great prizes for their beautiful garden, balcony or communal space. Categories include best garden, best balcony and window box and best shared garden. You don't have to be a Gallions resident, you just need to live in Thamesmead! A parenting workshop, 4:30-7:30pm, for those who have teenage children. It is recommended parents attend the Parenting Children workshop on 21 April, to then go on to reinforce skills that have been learnt, to deal with the more difficult situations met in teen years.

This workshop is free courtesy of Awards for All but pre-registration is required.

Sporting Club Thamesmead is working in partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust and Bexley College in offering this fantastic opportunity of a free Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure and FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification. The Queen will be celebrating 60 years as our Head of State during a four day Diamond Jubilee weekend running Saturday 2 June-Tuesday 5 June; noting Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 June 2012 are both Bank Holidays.

Waterways Children's Centre are offering a Giggle Club with entertainment by Mrs Back 2 Front, 1:30-2:30pm, courtesy of Sure Start and the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

This year's European football tournament, Euro 2012, will kick off on 8 June and run until 1 July.

The first week of June is National Volunteers Week and the Trust will be celebrating this with a volunteering event on Friday 8 June.

Come down to the Limestone Community Hall in South Thamesmead from 10:00am - 3:00pm for a bite to eat and a chat with Trust Thamesmead and Volunteer Centres Bexley and Greenwich and various community groups in Thamesmead.  Find out what opportunities we have to offer, how you can get involved in volunteering and meet some community groups looking for volunteers to help them.

Thamesmead Surfers over 50s group meet 11:00am-1:00pm on the last Tuesday of each month to watch demonstrations and take part in making cards, bookmarks, flower arranging and more. 50p per week for refreshments and some members stay for a pub lunch afterwards.

A new programme that emphasises the importance of having positive family and cultural values for achieving healthy lifestyles, covering everything from family stress including relationship difficulties, separation, health and finance to behaviours and emotions. 1st Tuesday of the month - Thamesmead Talks on a Tuesday

Greenwich Association of Disabled People (GAD) and Trust Thamesmead are working together to provide monthly drop in sessions for disabled people in Thamesmead. Meeting on the first Tuesday of every month-the first session is taking place on the 3rd May between 1:00-3:00pm.

These sessions will provide a place for disabled people to socialise, share information, resources and create a platform to speak up for disabled people living in Thamesmead about issues which affect them.

It's a tasty way to get your five a day! The stall offers great prices, a pre-ordering option and accept Healthy Start vouchers.

Days/times are; the first Saturday of every month, 10:30-11:30am and the third Friday of every month 6:30-7:30pm.
