Successful Grants
Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Team continually helps community groups apply for funding to help their projects.
Here is a list of just some of the Community Development's successful funding applications made in the 2008/09 financial year.
| The Monday Club |

The Monday Club received £4000 Grass Roots funding in January 2009. The money secured social outings for the over 50s group, as well as venue hire and a Christmas party which was not only a social gathering but an event to welcome new members too.

| Friends of the Atrium |

Friends of the Atrium gained £5000 of funding from Grassroots, which provided a year's worth of chair based tai chi classes for its members, to help them with their coordination, balance and a healthy life.

| Pop in Parlour |
|
Grassroots granted Friends of the Pop in Parlour £5000 in March 2009 to hold a year-long chair based exercise class, a Christmas activity, seaside outing and an open day to encourage new members. It went a long way as the Pop in now boasts more than 70 visitors every week.

| Glimpsing Green Neighbourhood Watch |

Awards for All granted Glimpsing Green Neighbourhood Watch £5000 in April 2008, which went towards a multicultural fun day which attracted more than 100 residents.

| Parkley Women's Group |

Awards for All granted Parkley Women's Group (changed its name to Bexley Chinese Association in 2011) more than £6000, which paid for a venue and a tutor for a year's worth of weekly ballroom dance classes.
