Thamesmere Leisure Centre in Thamesmere Drive, close to the town centre, offers a fantastic range of activities for groups, families and individuals including a swimming pool, a gym and weight training room and personal fitness programmes. A member of the Government's Swim4Free scheme.
As of 2 November 2009, free badminton is being offered every Monday, 2:00-3:00pm.

Family Action Thamesmead Talking Point is a service based in Thamesmead which provides support to families living in the borough of Greenwich.
By talking things through you can work together to seek solutions to the difficulties you are experiencing.
The service works with children aged 9-16 years old and their families who:
Experience severe difficulties in their relationships and ability to cope with stress
Are at risk of family breakdown
Struggle with parenting isues and life challenges
Are rebuilding themselves after traumatic events
Family Action Thamesmead Talking Point also deals with issues relating to separation or other types of loss and children's emotional and behavioural difficulties such as relating to peers at school or having low self-esteem.
They also work with families who are living with the impact of mental ill-health. They can help both parents and children to:
Increase their confidence and self-esteem
Understand mental illness and how it affects them and their family
Express their thoughts and feelings
Establish daily routines
Access the services they need
Resolve practical difficulties
Achieve their potential
They also offer mediation between family members, conflict between young people at school or in their neighbourhood or conflict between neighbours.
