Thamesmead Town FC, affectionately known as ‘The Mead', supports a semi-professional first team who will be playing in the Ryman League football next season 2008/09, after clinching the Kent Premier League in April.
 
The club, in Bayliss Avenue next to Crossway Park, has a clubhouse with a fully-licensed bar, a first team pitch and a training pitch and is working closely with Trust Thamesmead to improve the facilities on offer.

The clubhouse is available for private hire for weddings, birthdays etc and they have a club disco that can also be hired.

Trust Thamesmead has received planning permission from Bexley Council to go ahead with Sporting Club Thamesmead - a £4m redevelopment of Thamesmead Town Football Club.
