Elaine Harrison
Elaine’s professional career has been centred around improving the quality of life for children, young people and communities in which they live. Working as a clerical assistant to a community project in North Peckham made her realise where her passion lay.
After the birth of her children she joined Greenwich Youth Services as a volunteer, then part time youth worker progressing to a senior management position at the London Borough of Greenwich. Elaine led a large staff team to a successful Ofsted Inspection in 2007. Driven by a strong set of attitudes, values and beliefs she started her own company with her former deputy in 2010, working with and supporting organisations with a similar ethos and philosophy to their own, as always in the best interests of children, young people and the community.
As the newest member of the Board Elaine said that she wanted to commit to the Trust “because I believe I have something to give worth giving; have a genuine interest in the organisation, the area, the potential for development and the people”.
Elaine added “I have a real understanding of the area, built from personal experience of actually working the streets of Thamesmead as a detached youth worker.”
