Trust Thamesmead runs two successful Ofsted registered Pre-schools in Thamesmead at great rates.

Arnott Pre-school

Arnott Pre-school opened in March 2006 in the newly refurbished Arnott Community Centre.

Open during school term-time, Arnott Pre-school offer care and education for children aged 3-5 years.

It is here children learn about the similarities and differences between themselves and others through projects and themes which reflect the wider community.

The setting offers a spacious, safe and stimulating environment with a secure outside play area.

All staff hold appropriate Early Years qualifications and access ongoing training.

Arnott Pre-school received a good Ofsted result in September 2006.

Acorn Pre-school

Acorn pre-school opened in 1994. It operates from a self-contained building and is owned and managed by Trust Thamesmead who also fund the pre-school.

Acorn pre-school pride themselves on offering a safe, friendly and stimulating environment, including an enclosed outside play area comprising both paved and grass areas. It is a place where children can explore and investigate whilst developing their independence and well-being in a positive and enjoyable way.

They operate 39 weeks a year and provide morning and afternoon sessions 9:15-11:45am and 12:45-3:15pm Monday to Friday. Each session comprise of four staff members - 1 x Childcare Manager/SENCO Level 3, 1 x Deputy Childcare Manager Level 3 and 2 x Childcare Workers both Level 2, who work in partnership with parents/carers, Trust Thamesmead, Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership -Bexley and Ofsted.

In 2007, Acorn was the first pre-school in the London Borough of Bexley to receive an 'outstanding' Ofsted result.
