About Us

Trust Thamesmead is the only community development agency working exclusively for Thamesmead and we use our income to deliver direct services and to work with others to improve the quality of the lives of the 30,000 plus residents of Thamesmead, focusing on the most disadvantaged.

Our charitable objectives are focused on advancing education, improving health, getting more people back into work, strengthening the skills of local residents and putting in place much better social networks and community infrastructure.

We are beginning to make some headway in addressing the ‘failed vision’ for Thamesmead  - a vision that at one time painted a picture of vibrant, interconnected communities, with high quality facilities including a theatre, marina, a large community centre, a cinema, banking facilities etc. But new challenges have started to bite home.
