Red Letter Day for The Link
The countdown is well and truly on to The Link Thamesmead opening its doors on Monday 1 October.
To get the team ready for this momentous occasion, Trust Thamesmead, as The Link's parent company, held our annual away day in The Studio, The Link's 160 seat theatre.
“It was fantastic to see The Studio come alive for this test event,” said The Link's Centre Manager, Mark Blundell.
The Trust's annual away day focused on Customer Service, as although the Trust constantly works with residents, community groups, service providers and hall bookers, the opening of The Link and Sporting Club Thamesmead will see us working with customers in a way that has never been seen before at the Trust.
“Sustainability can only be done by moving into a business world.” said Trust Chief Executive, Mick Hayes. “Trust is in our name and we need to live up to that and embed it into people's minds to compete in this customer service orientated world.
“This in turn will help us provide a top quality offer and generate the income that will be ploughed back into both projects, to make them work for the community.
“We have already made a start by employing staff who will further strengthen our excellent staff team; individuals who are passionate, skilled and share the Trust's values.
“Our ambition is not only to be as good as we can be but to exceed what customers expect us to be. We already do this through our training and job search department Building Futures and our two childcare settings but we want to build upon them and help to change even more people's lives. The change we are going through is enormous and it will be exciting to look back at what we have achieved in three years' time.”
The Link Thamesmead will offer a range of activities and opportunities when it opens, as well as spaces for hire, including the 160 seat theatre, three meeting rooms which can accommodate 15-45 people, an IT Suite which will offer seven Apple i-Macs, a recording studio and a rehearsal room.
