T'riffic Thamesmead

T’riffic Thamesmead is a partnership between Trust Thamesmead and local primary schools that aims to celebrate Thamesmead, encourage children to feel proud of where they live and to help them develop a sense of belonging and place.

All thirteen primary schools in Thamesmead have committed to the project which involves pupils exploring Thamesmead during a week of activities directly related to the national curriculum. More than 750 children a year are expected to participate.

This area of the Trust Thamesmead website supports the education packs that have been developed for the project. It contains additional resources which can be downloaded and used by teachers and pupils alike including secret maps of the area dating from 1931 and the 24pp supplement produced by the Mercury newspaper to herald the beginning of Thamesmead in August 1968.

We would like to continue to develop this section so if you have anything you would like to contribute please contact us.

Thank you for your interest in T’riffic Thamesmead.
