Cory Bridge (formerly known as the A-bridge) will need to be closed temporarily to allow for resurfacing to take place. In order to minimise disruption, the resurfacing works will be limited to 8:00am-6:30pm over three days; 27-29 October during the half-term school holiday.
You may have already noticed partners Trust Thamesmead, London Borough of Bexley and Conway have already started enhancements to the bridge by painting the internal walls. Resurfacing the footbridge, installing a sculpture and introducing vibrant coloured lights will also happen, making it a nice, brighter, safer footbridge for all.
Pedestrians and cyclists using this route will need to find an alternative route between the above dates. Transport for London (TfL) provides bus services across Eastern Way, including buses 177, 229, 244, 401 and B11. Please visit the London Borough of Bexley's website for more information about bus services and alternative walking routes.
