Fond Farewell

Waterways Nursery based in Southwood Road, Thamesmead says goodbye to Gill Turner, who was a founder member when the creche started 21 years ago.

Gill will be retiring this Friday, 7 September and has thoroughly enjoyed her time at the crèche and seeing it evolve over the last two decades. She has worked alongside many families, caring for the children at Waterways.

The creche operates from 7:30am-6:15pm, 52 weeks a year, closing only for Bank Holidays and has 50 places for babies and toddlers up to the age of five, as well as a baby unit and will eventually be a Children's Centre.

Gill commented: “Working at the Creche has been a really happy time of my life with lots of changes over the years. I know that the centre will go on to be even more successful and I feel ready to retire now."
