A £30,000 fund to support resident-led projects and help run events is on offer to residents and community groups in South Thamesmead.
Trust Thamesmead is working in partnership with Gallions Housing Association and the London Borough of Bexley to give out grants through the South Thamesmead Regeneration Partnership Match Fund. The fund will pay for the materials, tools and professional services needed to deliver local projects that will help strengthen the community and make small scale environmental improvements in South Thamesmead.
Residents and community groups can apply for up to £5000, which must be matched in the form of cash, volunteering hours or resources.
Trust Thamesmead’s Community Development Officer, Alex Forrester said: “The regeneration happening across South Thamesmead will affect and benefit local residents and community groups who live and work in the area. The South Thamesmead Match Fund is a great opportunity for the local community to play a key role in the area’s development. I would like to hear from anyone who has an idea, big or small, that would like to improve or support local people in developing their skills or offering their experiences whilst improving the local environmental.”
