Teaching Training Graduation

Ten students who attended Trust Thamesmead/Groundwork's 26 week Teacher Assistant Training programme graduated on Friday, 20 July at Trust Thamesmead's Offices in Thamesmead Town Centre.

“The Teacher Assistant Training course was a huge success,” said Sharron Hawe, Project Co-ordinator of Trust Thamesmead's training and employment department, Building Futures. “All ten students gained work placements in local schools and found jobs before they even graduated.”

This is the first time Trust Thamesmead has worked in partnership with Groundwork's in bringing teacher training to Thamesmead.

Trust Thamesmead funded four of the ten students who are Thamesmead residents. Students who take part in the next Teacher Assistant Training course starting in September will all be Thamesmead residents and funded by the Trust.
