The Trust held its annual Christmas Card competition presentation last night (Tuesday 7 December), at a ceremony held at our office in Thamesmead Town Centre, which was attended by Trust Thamesmead staff and Board members, the winner, one runner up and their families.
The evening saw Christmas Card Competition winner, Heronsgate primary school pupil eight year old Callista Mersini, presented with an art set, a framed copy of her artwork and copies of her Christmas card to send to friends and family.
Two runners up, Heronsgate pupil, nine year old Kayleigh Parker and St Margaret Clitherow pupil, six year old Dean Sale, also received an art set and framed copies of their artwork.
“The presentation evening is always a favourite at Trust Thamesmead-it is fantastic to see young people awarded for their work.” said Trust Thamesmead's Head of Community Development, David Stone.
“Every year we invite all 15 schools in Thamesmead to participate in our annual Christmas card competition; this year we received more than 150 entries.” said Trust Thamesmead's Marketing and Communications Officer, Julia Hickson. “Every year we have the dilemma of choosing a winner and two runners up and it was no different this year but we eventually managed to whittle it down to three.
“Well done to everyone who took part and congratulations to Callista, Kayleigh and Dean.”
Callista's card has been printed and sent to 359 of our contacts, from partners and service providers to community groups; all of which will know Callista's name and see her work.
