Not Just Red Noses at Thamesmead Town

It wasn't a just a case of red noses when Thamesmead Town Football Club did their bit for Red Nose Day.

They chose to raise money for Comic Relief by holding a naked penalty shoot-out!

Sporting nothing more than football boots and strategically placed red noses the first team and back room staff were game for a laugh and took to the pitch ahead of their Ryman League game against Potters Bar Town.

First team manger Keith McMahon (pictured second right standing) said: “I don't know who came up with this crazy idea but fair play to the boys. It was a chilly old day but they didn't back out.

“Thanks to everyone who sponsored us because we raised a fantastic £600 for Comic Relief.

“On the down side the effort must have taken a bit out of us because we went on to lose three-nil.”
