Back in late October senior officers from the Department for Education (DfE) visited The Link Thamesmead.
They saw first hand the plans we have for the centre and, as Centre Manager Mark Blundell reports, they were very impressed indeed.
“During the visit, which included contributions from two of our Board members, Ken Miller and Elaine Harrison, they talked to the young people who were painting the murals, about their involvement in Thamesmead Youth Voice and The Link.
“They also heard from the Archway Project and Charlton Athletic Community Trust staff about their specific plans for their arches.
“Following on from the meeting the DfE has asked us to produce a case study of The Link; they especially like the way the centre brings together various organisations in partnership.
“Also we are going to invite the Minister of State for Education to visit and who knows, if he is as impressed as his officers, we might even see his bosses paying a visit to Thamesmead!”
