Black Swans Spotted in Thamesmead

Trust Thamesmead employees spotted two rare Black Swans and their signets being blown down the canal outside the Trust's HQ in Joyce Dawson Way, Thamesmead Town Centre on Thursday 18 January - the windiest day the U.K. has seen in 17 years.

The Black Swan is a large non-migratory water bird which breeds mainly in the southeast and southwest of Australia. The current global population of the Black Swan is approximately around 500,000 individuals.
