Hi Antony! You have just finished a tour of Boogie Nights - how was it?
It was a great but gruelling six month tour. I loved being able to play a part that allowed me to use my signing and acting skills and become someone else for the night. What kept it alive was the crowd - each one brought something extra to the show.
Are you looking forward to playing at this year's Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival?
I am really looking forward to it. It is going to be amazing - I have never played in front of so many people as a solo artist, so I am sure I will be nervous but hopefully that will turn into adrenaline. It is going to be about the energy and I have spoken to Simon (Webbe) who headlined last year - he said the crowd was amazing and he's given me some tips, so I'm raring to go.
Have you been to Thamesmead before?
I have visited the area a few times with Lee (Ryan) - he lives up the road in Blackheath. I remember Thamesmead being very green - I might have even been to Birchmere Park.
Will you miss the other boys from Blue when you are on stage?
It will be strange not having the boys bopping away behind me and feeding off their energy but when you're on stage the performance takes over and you forget everything and give it your all.
If you could choose to duet with anyone who would it be?
The one person I would love to duet with is George Michael. He's been my hero since I can remember. I try and take inspiration from him as his music has lasted throughout the decades - that is the making of a superstar.
What is next for you?
Having just finished a 12 month stint in theatre - six months Blood Brothers followed by six months of Boogie Nights, I feel it's time for a long summer holiday. Somewhere nice and hot.
