Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival RoundUp

With the annual Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival just days away excitement is reaching fever pitch, so we though we would send you a brief overview of what residents can expect on the day.

Beginning with the community festival parade, the 400-strong participants will be walking carnival style from Hawksmoor Youth Club at 9:30am to Birchmere Park where they will arrive around 10:00am to parade around the park before taking part in a fashion show on the community platform at 10:30am.

The main stage:

There will be an Activity and Wellbeing Zone featuring various community groups, a climbing wall and a community platform featuring:

11:00  Break for The T Factor Final on the Main Stage

12:40  Judo Display Team (Thamesmead Judo Club)
13:00  Tai Chi (Dorothy Ng)
13:40  Irish Dancing (Hawkins School of Irish Dance)
14:25  Majorettes (Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Twirlers)
15:00  Tae Kwan Do (Tan Gun)
15:20  Disco, cheerleading and show dances (Thamesmead School of Dance)

There will be a Trust Thamesmead marquee, telling people we don't just do festivals! You will see for yourself the fantastic multi-million pound projects we are bringing to Thamesmead, as well as providing information regarding the services we offer to Thamesmead residents and then there is the farm! For the first time ever, the festival will feature lots of animals for people to touch and stroke.

And that's not all! There will be community stalls, a Children's Zone, Water Activity Zone, a party tent and marquees belonging to Greenwich Council's Talk Café and Chocolate Films.
