Trust Thamesmead would like to thank local businesses for continuing to support our summer festival despite the credit crunch.
As Thamesmead's leading community development agency, we know this year's festival is more important than ever.
“Around 15,000 Thamesmead residents attend the Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival each year and we are well aware that many of those could be facing difficult times during the current economic climate,” said Trust Thamesmead's Chief Executive Mick Hayes.
“Evidence shows that families are cutting back on treats so it's great that, along with the festival sponsors, we are still able to continue to put on event that is free to attend.
“Times aren't easy for the commercial sector either so we want to publicly applaud the companies that have dug deep in order to continue to support our work.
“Tilfen Land, Gallions Housing Association, Axis Europe and London City Airport have all supported us for a number of years and we can't thank them enough. We also want to thank both Bexley and Greenwich Councils for putting their weight behind our community event. Without them the day would not be any where near as varied or as fun.”
The Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival is taking place 10:00am-6:00pm on Saturday 11 July in Birchmere Park, Thamesmead.
