Trust Thamesmead's Board of Trustees has been working intensively with our staff over the past three months to develop our draft strategy setting out where we want to be by March 2015. The Board now wants the staff team to enter into a dialogue with our key partners on this work prior to signing off their final plan when they meet at the end of March.
The Chair of the Board Vic Grimes said: "As a Board we have felt enormously confident to set out a very aspirational but challenging plan for the next three years. Our plan is entitled 'Transforming Thamesmead' and includes our big 15 priorities. However we recognise that if we are to realise our ambitions then we need to both ride on the major physical developments we expect to see locally but also help fuse together, in a cohesive way, the plans of all of us who aspire to improve Thamesmead in a positive way under a single communications message".
The Board and staff have also spent a lot of time revisiting our mission, values and vision and our trustees have now agreed to recommend the three following statements:
Our Mission Statement Trust Thamesmead is a community development organisation with charitable status that works almost exclusively in Thamesmead.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life and enhance opportunities and aspirations for the whole community. We do this by:
Advocating for change to benefit Thamesmead residents and supporting local people to find local solutions.
Forming partnerships with those who share our vision.
Acting as a gateway to bring services and funding to Thamesmead.
Using our income to deliver direct services of very high quality.
Our Values We put our values are at the heart of everything we do. We always act with integrity and care whilst having the passion, commitment and ambition to drive forward change. We are here to support people and organisations both now and for the long term.
Our Vision We aspire for Thamesmead to be the place of choice for people to live, work, raise their families and have happy and fulfilled lives. A place where vibrant, self-reliant, inclusive communities can grow and where people are proud of who they are and where they live.
