An exhibition of artwork produced by 600 primary school children has wowed teachers and parents.
The children, from Heronsgate primary school, created their masterpieces as part of this year’s Trust Thamesmead ‘T’riffic Thamesmead’ project which with an exhibition of their artwork.
T’riffic Thamesmead is a joint initiative between the Trust and local primary schools to encourage pupils to appreciate the positive side of living in Thamesmead and to help give them a sense of both pride and belonging.
Teacher Victoria Harding said: “The project has gone well. We designed it to fit in with some of the topic work our classes were doing on famous artists. Children picked elements of Thamesmead landmarks and places they loved in Thamesmead and used particular artists’ styles to create some amazing work.
“We held the gallery over two days at our campuses in West Thamesmead and Woolwich, which included parents’ evenings, meaning that parents were also able to visit the gallery and purchase their child's work.
