It’s national walking month so what better time to come along and join in one of the free walks as part of the Now’s the Time.
Guided by a walk leader, this fun one hour session of walking taking place 2:00-3:00pm on Tuesday 20 May from Gallions Reach Health Centre will also allow you to create a GPS word track with our community artists.
The “Walk the Walk” GPS word track, has been created by Janetka Platun and Amanda Lowe, community artists working with the Now’s The Time project in Thamesmead.
Participants can create a word track by walking while holding a small GPS device provided by the artists. Their route will be used to then spell out a word or a pattern and captured so they can see what it would look like when viewed from the air.
