Project Soup comes to Thamesmead for the first time on Thursday 22 September, and we're looking for community groups in Thamesmead to pitch ideas to earn funding for great local projects.
Inspired by Detroit Soup in the US, Project Soup allows members of the community to pay a small entry fee in return for a bowl of soup and the right to vote for one of the organisations pitching an idea for a community project. The organisation gaining most votes will then be given the entry money gathered from the event.
The last Project Soup event raised £588.50 for a local charity
Peabody has already held three successful sessions at the Hugh Cubitt Centre in King's Cross, working with Clear Village and Project Dirt. Last month's event raised £588.50 for Centre 404, a wonderful small local charity that helps to provide activities for children and adults with learning disabilities.
