Trust Thamesmead is getting right behind Adult Learners' Week this year (19 to 25 May 2007).
The community development agency has linked up with Greenwich Council, Adult Education College Bexley and other providers to ensure that the residents of Thamesmead have access to information about a wide range of opportunities to learn in the area.
The Trust's project coordinator for Adult Learners' Week is Roz Williams. She said: “The week aims to encourage adults of all ages to try something new - whether you are a young parent keen to learn new skills to help with future job prospects or a senior citizen who would like to take up a new hobby and meet new people.
“We think we've developed an exciting programme of activities and hope that Thamesmead residents will want to get involved.
“You can try your hand at our taster sessions in arts & crafts, hairstyling and floristry; we're offering free basic computer sessions for older residents and information on training and job opportunities through our Building Futures project.”
The Trust is involved with the following events and more information on all of them is available from Roz on 8320 4470 or email [email protected]
