World Environment Day

Trust Thamesmead is joining Taru (Transforming Arts, Regenerating Understanding) Brazil in celebrating World Environment Day this Tuesday, 5 June by taking part in London's biggest recycling carnival project.

The two companies are again working with primary schools in Thamesmead to make costumes made out of recycled materials for the Trust Thamesmead Summer Festival School Parade, which begins at 12 noon on Saturday 14 July at Linton Mead Primary School in Central Way, Thamesmead and will proceed along Bentham Road into Birchmere Park, where they will be greeted by a crowd of thousands before entertainment kicks off on the main stage at 1:00pm, partying through to 8pm.

Note: TARU (Transforming Arts, Regenerating Understanding) is a not-for-profit organisation based in South East London, who devise and deliver art educational activities for children and young people in and around London.
