More 100 Thamesmead residents attended the various activities/workshops laid on by Trust Thamesmead last week during national Adult Learner's Week (17-23 May 2008).
The workshops included a radio skills workshop taken by 103.7fm TGR Sound's week day breakfast show presenter Andy Sayers, a computer class, bowls tournament and an array of workshops at our office in Thamesmead Town Centre, including hairdressing, water colour painting, computers and a mobile climbing wall taster session.
Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Officer Roz Williams said: “Trust Thamesmead's training and employment department Building Futures will be following up everyone who attended Adult Learners' Week to see if they can assist them with training and job searches.”
Adult Learners' Week is held every year to encourage those who are no longer in full time education to take up a new hobby or try a new skill which could lead to a new career.
