The free family fun days held in Thamesmead throughout August proved very popular, with approximately 200 people turning up at each event, which were brought to Thamesmead by the Thamesmead Extended Schools Cluster, Trust Thamesmead, Gallions Housing Association, Mulberry Park Children's Centre, Greenwich Community College, Bexley and Greenwich Family Information Services and Bexley and Greenwich Councils.
Trust Thamesmead Community Development Officer Sarah Feleppa said: “The family fun days were a chance for Thamesmead residents to meet with local service providers; for children to be able to take part in various fun activities including face painting, beat the goalie, bouncy castles, play dough and climb on a climbing wall during their summer holiday and for adults to learn more about healthy eating and take part in ideal career workshops.”
Sarah added: “It proved to be a fantastic chance for us to engage with the local community and to offer our services, whilst treating them to a fantastic barbeque.”
