Open Day Review

Friday's Trust Thamesmead/Greenmead Children's Centre at Greenmead Community Centre in Lime Road, Thamesmead proved a huge success, attracting a steady flow of residents from the area; a lot of which signed up to service providers projects; everything from enrolling on courses to signing up to receive Trust Thamesmead's newsletter.

Trust Thamesmead and its Building Futures department which offers training and employment searches, as well as Greenmead Children's Centre, Bexley Family Information Service, Bexley Family Learning, BATS, Thamesmead Fit Club and both Greenwich and Bexley PCTs and dentists all attended and offered their skills, whilst Mrs Back-to-Front performed, entertaining the children.

Lots of free items were given away, including promotional items from each service provider, energy saving light-bulbs which were given to the Trust courtesy of EDF Energy and free fire alarms from the Fire Brigade, who will go on to give a talk at one of the Trust's halls at a later date.

Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Officer Linda Delieu said: “The day was a huge success. It is great to lead and attend these types of events that take us to the heart of the community. A lot of interest was shown in the services we provide and even those who did not want or need our help said they know others that may be interested."
