Volunteers Needed for New Fruit & Veg Stall

Trust Thamesmead and Greenwich Community Food Cooperative are looking for volunteers who can spare 1-4 hours every Thursday to lead their new fruit and veg stall opening in West Thamesmead next month, almost three years to the day after they opened the first one in Arnott Close.

Thursday 16 September 2010 will see the launch of Trust Thamesmead's and Greenwich Community Food Coop's second weekly fruit and veg stall, which will be based outside Discovery School in Battery Road, West Thamesmead.

Romel Holmes-Lewis who is Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Officer for West Thamesmead said: “Volunteering positions will provide an opportunity for volunteers to receive on the job training in customer service and money handling, whilst promoting the benefits of eating five daily portions of fruit and veg.”

Those wanting further information should contact Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Officer Romel Holmes-Lewis, T: 020 8320 4470 or Sue Pollock at Greenwich Community Food Co-operative, T: 020 8856 1578.
