Lives at Risk

Bexley Police are appealing for information with regards to metal thieves who are putting peoples' lives at risk.

One hundred and fifty three drain covers have been taken in the Bexley side of Thamesmead alone over the last four months; many of which have been in the middle of roads, others in the middle of footpaths, which we think you will agree are highly dangerous and can cause serious injury-or worse.

If you see anyone working on or removing drain covers; day or night, please dial 999 immediately.

If you have any information on who is stealing these drain covers or where they are being stored or disposed of, please call Bexley Police 0300 123 1212, or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers 0800 555 111; just tell them what you know, not who you are.
