Today's the day that we need you, your family, friends, neighbours - anyone and everyone to dial the above number and vote for Thamesmead to be in with the chance of winning £50,000 from ITV's People's Millions to breathe life back into its derelict nature reserve, Tump53.
Tump 53 contains mixed woodland, a glade, a pond and is surrounded by a reed-fringed moat. Over 60 bird species have been found here, including kingfisher, willow warblers and redpoll.
The site needs management and resources to reach its full potential for wildlife and local people. With an injection of funds, practical conservation could start to take place, to let light through the canopy and improve the pond. We want to open this beautiful site up to local families, school groups and volunteers, allowing them to enjoy and share this fantastic wildlife garden but the only way we can do this is with your help by gaining the most phone votes between 9:00am and midnight tonight!
The above telephone number is also available in today's Daily Mirror and will be broadcast on tonight's ITV 6 o'clock evening news, where a short clip about the project will also be shown. Don't forget to tune in, you might even recognise some faces!
Wild About Thamesmead is backed by London Wildlife Trust, Trust Thamesmead and Gallions Housing Association.
Thank you in advance to everyone who votes, please log back on Thursday to see if we won.
*Please note calls cost no more than 11p per minute from a BT landline, calls from other networks may vary and will cost considerably more from a mobile phone. A maximum of 10 calls can be made from any one phone line - all other calls will not be counted.
