Sporting Club Thamesmead Wins Award

Congratulations to Sporting Club Thamesmead who have been awarded Best New Non-League Stand 2013/14 by the football grounds magazine, Groundtastic.

Sporting Club Thamesmead which is home to both Thamesmead Town Football Club and Charlton Athletic Women's Football Club was awarded the honour after redeveloping Thamesmead Town's old ground; adding more seats, a cover and redeveloping itself as a £5 million sport and leisure facility.

The community hub offers 4G pitches, grass pitches, fitness classes, an outdoor multi-use games area, indoor multi-use room and two all-important function rooms, all of which are available to hire in the largely sustainable building whose ground recede into the landscape and a large welcoming, well-lit car park.
