Vote for Taking Care of Thamesmead and you could help thousands of young people to get a better start in life.
The Trust Thamesmead project, should the Trust receive enough public votes and win £25,000 from The Aviva Community Fund, will go towards inspiring young people to get involved in activities that will benefit their health and wellbeing. This could be through sport sessions or Thamesmead-wide primary school tournaments which will take place at Thamesmead’s newest leisure and sporting venue, Sporting Club Thamesmead and schools across Thamesmead.
Peabody’s Chief Executive, Stephen Howlett said: “By voting for Taking Care of Thamesmead, you will be helping thousands of young people to understand the importance of physical activity which can often lead to not only preventing certain illnesses and prolonging lives but helping young people to gain confidence and reach their full potential in life. We’ve won public votes before, Thamesmead. With your help, we can do it again.
Trust Thamesmead is part of the Peabody Group and manages Thamesmead’s newest leisure and sporting venue, Sporting Club Thamesmead which offers a range of fitness activities to all ages. The Trust is also a partner in Now’s the Time, a three year project which offers affordable fitness activities for just £1 from different venues across Thamesmead.
