Thamesmead Careers Fair

More than 300 young people met with employers, universities and training providers at The Link Thamesmead's Careers Fair on Friday 10 June.

The careers fair hosted 34 stalls from employers such as the London Fire Brigade and the British Army, universities such as the University of Greenwich and the University of Cambridge and other organisations including the National Citizen Service and Thamesmead Town FC football academy.

The event also included a series of nine workshops with practical advice in areas including building your own business, interview techniques and CVs, and introductions to employment sectors such as the leisure industry and performing arts.

This comes at the end of National Volunteers Week (1 - 12 June) which saw Thamesmead residents participate in a number of workshops and activities including finding out more about being a volunteer and the difference you can make in your community.

The Link Thamesmead is a state of the art youth-focused community centre managed by Trust Thamesmead, which is part of the Peabody Group.
