Thamesmead YMCA Sailing Awards

Approximately 100 young people from Bexley Council's Youth Voluntary Organisations and Thamesmead YMCA attended a Sail Fun day at Southmere Lake, Thamesmead on Sunday 10 September.

The occasion was to acknowledge the young peoples achievements - all of which had previously attended a Royal Yachting Association course with the YMCA - in the form of medals, which were presented by Trust Thamesmead's Chair, Cllr Jackie Smith.

“The whole day was organised by the young people who attend Thamesmead YMCA,” said Principle George Reynolds OBE. “We had a fantastic day - the weather was brilliant and the young people were supported by a large number of parents.”
