Trust Thamesmead will be celebrating the 16th International Day of Older Persons with the older residents of Thamesmead, 11:00am-3:00pm on Monday 1 October at The Atrium, Teeswater Court, Middle Way, Thamesmead.
In the morning Trust Thamesmead, Age Concern Bexley, Bexley Primary Care Trust, Bexley Road Safety Action Group, Safer Neighbourhood Team and Gallions Housing Association will be on hand to give talks, provide information and chat to residents. This will be followed by lunch and then 1.5 hours of Vera Lynn style, sing-a-long entertainment, all of which is being provided by Trust Thamesmead.
“The last event we held for the over 50's was a huge success,” said Trust Thamesmead's Chief Executive, Mick Hayes, “Although it became clear that some older residents do not get out much. So not only have Trust Thamesmead invited members of the over 50 groups in Thamesmead that we work with to celebrate the International Day of Older Persons, but we are also working alongside Gallions Housing Association who will be arranging transport to reach those who are house restricted.”
