Trust Thamesmead is again working with the Thamesmead community in bringing Black History Month to Thamesmead.
Trust Thamesmead invited Whippersnappers drama group into its preschools; Arnott and Acorn last week, to teach the preschool children and their parents about black history through drama and song.
Trust Thamesmead is working in partnership with Gallions Housing Association to put on a photographic exhibition during half-term 27-31 October, which will be available to view at Gallions Housing Association, Harrow Manor Way. Both community organisations will also be going on the road, visiting various Thamesmead community groups with a Black History Month quiz.
And Trust Thamesmead is also working with the community and supporting an international day to celebrate Black History Month on Sunday 2 November. The day will be lead by Greenmead's Children Centre's Parents Forum, whose backgrounds are varied. They came up with the idea of taking in food and national costumes worn in their native countries to learn about each others backgrounds.
