Every year Trust Thamesmead works in partnership with local organisations to bring family learning week to Thamesmead residents and this year is no different, except the week has been extended to a month, to celebrate national Family Learning's 10th anniversary.
Trust Thamesmead is working in collaboration with both Bexley and Greenwich Councils, local schools and community groups in bringing story teller Brian Bilson to Thamesmead.
Brian has already held story telling sessions at Heronsgate primary school and Parkway primary school and will be returning to Thamesmead again this Friday, 17 October, when he will be spending the morning at Hawksmoor primary school and the afternoon at Arnott pre-school. The Discovery primary school and various community groups have also been invited and will attend whilst Bill is in Thamesmead.
Trust Thamesmead's Community Development Officer Roz Williams said: “Trust Thamesmead is pleased to work in co-operation with other agencies to hold these story telling sessions in Thamesmead. The sessions aim to encourage children and their family members to learn both formally and informally, and improve their qualitative leisure time together. They also provide the opportunity for a range of community groups and families to share together a fun learning experience.”
