Thamesmead's over 50's group the Pop in Parlour's next fundraising event will be taking place 5:45pm until late on Friday 29 May at their meeting place, Evenlode House, Coralline Walk, Thamesmead, SE2 9TP.
The event will raise money for Demelza House children's charity and will include a BBQ and the second annual bowling tournament featuring local service providers including Trust Thamesmead and Gallions Housing Association.
Minimum £3 donation/entrance fee which includes BBQ. Open to every-one of all ages and abilities.
Although the Pop in Parlour is a community group, relying endlessly on volunteers, they regularly raise money for charities; most recently Help for Heroes. Chairman John Thompson said: “Every week we sell raffle tickets with the winner winning £20, the Pop in Parlour winning £20, with the rest going towards a charity, which in this case was Help for Heroes, who we sent £100 to.
“A lot of the Pop in Parlour's members are ex service men, so we know all too well the sacrifices these remarkable young men and women make.”
