Trust Thamesmead celebrated the 16th International Day of Older Persons with older residents of Thamesmead, including some hard to reach residents on Monday 1 October at The Atrium.
In the morning Trust Thamesmead, Age Concern Bexley, Bexley Primary Care Trust, Bexley Road Safety, Safer Neighbourhood Team and Gallions Housing Association were on hand to give talks, provide information and chat to residents. This was followed by lunch and then 1.5 hours of Vera Lynn style, sing-a-long entertainment, all of which was provided by Trust Thamesmead.
Greenwich Councillor David Grant said: “Day of Older Persons is an annual event. It is fantastic Trust Thamesmead remembered this day and I hope the Trust and the older residents of Thamesmead carry on celebrating on an annual basis.”
Trust Thamesmead Trustee Ted Claridge, himself an older resident of Thamesmead who attended the event said: “An enjoyable time was had by all. Staff members should be congratulated on all their hard work.”
