Trust Thamesmead and the Greenwich Community Food Coop is calling upon Thamesmead residents to give at least an hour of their time every week to become a volunteer for Thamesmead's first fresh fruit and veg stall.
“We have two fantastically reliable volunteers who, come rain or shine, turn up every Friday to sell fresh fruit and veg to the public of Thamesmead,” said Trust Thamesmead's community development officer Roz Williams. “The stall has grown week upon week since it launched on Friday 28 September. It is so busy that we are looking for more people to help.
“The fresh fruit and veg stall is an opportunity for volunteers to man the stall and become more involved in their community. They will receive on the job training in customer service, money handling and retail.”
The Trust Thamesmead/Greenwich Community Food Coop's not for profit, community led, fresh fruit and veg stall is held 10:00am-2:00pm every Friday outside Arnott Community Centre, off Bentham Road, Thamesmead.
