Trust Thamesmead worked in partnership with Gallions Housing Association last Friday, in throwing a Halloween party at Thamesmead's nature centre Tump 53 off Bentham Road, to entertain young people and stop them from going trick or treating.
Romel told Catch Up: “Halloween has become more and more popular over the years, so we thought we would throw a party to encourage young people to have fun and attend our party rather than go trick or treating, which a lot of people find intimidating.”
Young people were invited from all over Thamesmead and the party was a huge success; a ghost story was told, eerie food was eaten, scary music was played, as were games including a Terror Treasure Trail with clues which lead them to a treasure chest full of ‘body part' sweets.
Romel added: “Everyone who attended had a great time. We hope to throw a party again next year and invite even more young people.”
