Free advice and guidance for Thamesmead residents.
January is the perfect month to make positive changes - out with the old and in with the new, which is why Trust Thamesmead as part of the Peabody Group, has arranged a New Year New You Coffee Morning for 26 January.
Offering free advice and guidance from a number of support services, it is here residents can find out more about finding a job, managing finances, taking control of their health, volunteering opportunities and even setting up a community group.
Stephen Howlett, Chief Executive of Peabody who manages Trust Thamesmead said: “Our colleagues at Trust Thamesmead have a wealth of knowledge and experience in helping Thamesmead residents to reach their full potential. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals to meet our friendly advisors and service partners to find out how to take the first step to reach their goal.”
In 2015 alone, Trust Thamesmead helped more than 300 Thamesmead residents find a job, 118 with volunteer placements, 58 with financial support and more than 1,500 with health and wellbeing advice and affordable activities, with the latter two stats taken from the Peabody Group's two pioneering partnership programmes, Positive Steps Thamesmead and Now's the Time Thamesmead alone.
The event on Tuesday 26 January will take place 9:00am - 12:00pm at Birchmere Community Hub, Birchmere Park, Thamesmead, SE18 8AP.
The event will also be the launch of the hub's weekly drop-in cafe. Run by a volunteer, the café will be open 9:00am - 12:00pm every Tuesday.
