Christmas Celebrations in Thamesmead

Despite the wind and rain, Thamesmead celebrated Christmas in style on Saturday, 13 December 2008.

Trust Thamesmead provided face painters, arts and crafts for children, music and arranged carol singing by local community groups; 1st Thamesmead Brownies, 2nd Thamesmead Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, 5th Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Brownies and Rainbows and Power Light of Evangelist Ministry.

The above groups were introduced by the Deputy Mayor of Greenwich Allan MacCarthy and were accompanied by Santa.

“Everyone who attended really enjoyed themselves,” said Trust Thamesmead's Marketing and Communications Officer and the day's coordinator Julia Hickson. “The children loved the activities we laid on and the standard of singing was outstanding.

"Thank you to all those who took part.”
