Gallions Housing Association employees showed their charitable side over the Christmas period. A total of five staff spent two days helping the homeless; talking and engaging with them and making sure their needs were met, at specially organised Crisis Christmas Centres across London. The centres set up by homeless charity, Crisis, provided companionship, hot meals, health checks, housing advice and training and further development opportunities for homeless and vulnerably housed people.
Janine Pethig, one of the Gallions volunteers, said: “It was great to help out. I found it very rewarding and was able to use my time very well over Christmas. I will be doing it again next year and hopefully so will my colleagues. I recommend it to everyone”.
A record 8,000 volunteers welcomed hundreds of homeless guests into nine centres across London.
