Acorn Pre-school has been awarded Outstanding by the governing body for education, Ofsted.
The pre-school received the accolade for the quality of teaching, highlighting the exceptional progress made by every child, the range of high quality learning experiences, a highly effective staff team led by an extremely passionate manager, excellent partnerships between staff and parents and staff's commitment to safeguarding and protecting children in their care.
Peabody's Chief Executive, Stephen Howlett said: “I am delighted that Acorn Pre-school has yet again been recognised as Outstanding. The dedication and care staff show is second to none. Ofsted's strapline is ‘raising standards improving lives' which is exactly what we aim for and are achieving at both our pre-schools.”
Acorn was the first pre-school in the London Borough of Bexley to be awarded Outstanding (2007). The setting went on to receive Outstanding again in 2011 with inspectors awarding all 17 areas as ‘Grade 1 Outstanding… exceptionally high quality'.
Acorn Pre-school is the second of two pre-schools managed by us to be awarded ‘Outstanding' this year.
Acorn Pre-school offers affordable childcare to residents of Thamesmead for 39 weeks a year, providing morning and afternoon sessions Monday-Friday during term time.
