One thousand residents attend family fun day in Thamesmead.
Sporting Club Thamesmead offered residents a day to remember at their family fun day which took place at Crossway Park on Saturday. Residents participated in the multi sports arena, football skill tests and tennis whilst being treated to inflatables, face painting and community stalls as well as demonstrations by a number of local community groups.
The family fun day took place the same day as a record 500 spectators witnessed Peabody presenting Thamesmead Town Football Club with the Peabody Trophy at the home-team's 30 year anniversary and first international match after beating Jersey Football Association 3-1.
Peabody's CEO, Stephen Howlett said: “It was great to see so many Thamesmead residents attend Sporting Club Thamesmead's family fun day on Saturday. The event was made even more special with Thamesmead Town Football Club's 30th anniversary and first international match against Jersey Football Association. It was a pleasure to present the home team with the Peabody trophy after their 3-1 win. We hope many residents will take up their special £30 season ticket offer and get behind their local football team.”
The game took place at Thamesmead's newest sports and leisure facility, Sporting Club Thamesmead which is also home to Charlton Athletic Women's Football Club and Seven Acres and Sidcup F.C..
